The Masonic Perspective

Bridging Experience and Advocacy

Brian Byrd's (often referred to as 'Byrd') perspective comes from years of hands-on leadership within the Craft. Serving as a Past Master of what was once the largest Masonic Lodge in the world forced him to learn the complexities of managing vast groups of employees, volunteers and navigating high-stakes administrative challenges that most lodges will never face.

That local experience laid the foundation for his current role as a Deputy Grand Chancellor for the State of Kansas. This position has granted him a unique vantage point, allowing him to observe and interact with Freemasonry on a global scale. He has seen what works, what doesn't, and what happens when transparency is sacrificed for comfort.

A Metric for Success

We don't measure the success of this podcast by download numbers or subscriber counts, although we appreciate them. Our success is measured by impact:

  • Strengthening the Craft: Providing actionable insights that help existing lodges navigate their own challenges.

  • Guiding the Future: Helping those who are on the fence about joining to make an informed decision based on the truth, not mystery.

  • Changing Perspectives: Successfully engaging with those who hold anti-Masonic views and, by virtue of honesty and education, helping them see the organization in a new, accurate light. Even if we change the mind of just one person, the mission is worth it.

Who is Brian Byrd?

Brian Byrd's (often referred to as 'Byrd') path to masonry came about as many others do.  Byrd grew up an Army brat and lived, even attended school, throughout the world.  Finally settling in a rural farming community, he felt like he had some stability.

Leaving from high school with aspirations of continuing a football career in college, he quickly realized that path was not a viable option at the next level.  From there, he joined the military, which just enhanced the "swagger" that many people that know him see.

Later, he entered the business world and had successful ventures in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate.  He was known as an industry expert and one of the Top 100 Operators (always Top 20) in the World, in his field.

In 2023, after a monumental business transaction, Byrd left the world of having employees and the day-to-day grind of being a business owner (with employees).  Today, Byrd lends his skills and expertise in all aspects of commercial real estate.  Whether it be marketing, self-storage, manufactured housing, or even car washes, Byrd's imprint is on hundreds of assets throughout the United States.

Masonry:  Byrd sought out Masonry in the early 2000's, seeking out the camaraderie he had in the military.  A quick "Ask Jeeves" search led him to Albert Pike Lodge, where the rest, as they say, is history.  Curious about what Byrd has achieved in Freemasonry, click on the button below for an up-to-date Masonic Bio.
